Carolwood Founder, Rex Bailey, first became aware of the benefits of sulfur supplements when DMSO was used successfully to relieve joint ailments in several horses he owned. When his mother was stricken with arthritis, he used DMSO to help relieve her joint pain. After his Mother's death - which Rex attributes to drugs administered to treat her arthritis pain -- his daughter-in-law became afflicted with arthritis.

Determined that his daughter-in-law would not have to experience the side effects of drug therapy, Rex began additional research into the effectiveness of organic sulfur supplements in treating arthritis. His research led him to the Oregon Health Sciences University and Dr. Stanley Jacob's work with MSM, a derivative of DMSO. Pleased not only with his daughter-in-law's progress with MSM, but also with Dr. Jacob's scientific and clinical studies, Rex launched Carolwood Corporation in 1997 to market LignisulŪ MSM. Rex Launched Carolwood also to increase peoples awareness of the beneficial properties of MSM and to increase the clinical studies being done with MSM. Rex also takes MSM on a daily basis and has hot baths with MSM 2 - 3 times daily to relieve his back pain.
